Thunder on the Mountains (includes report)

June 4, 2009 by Edit Team 1

Thunder on the MountainOn 4th July 2009 a host of Drummers, Shofar blowers, and praying Intercessors will gather on the Preseli Mountains in Wales to Drum up a Storm in the Spirit. They will be contending for an open heaven over Wales so that new wells of Revival & Glory will spring forth. The spiritual soil in Wales is rich with the history of Revival and Music, and we will be calling for those ancient wells to spring forth once again (from Selah website).

This is an event led by Ray Hughes from Selah Minitries USA (one of the Board Members of the BURN ministry) as a worship and intercession “event” on the Preseli Mountains in Wales.
If you have a heart to intercede with drums and would like to find out more about joining the team please contact UK Director and Psalm Drummer Steve Lincoln at steve@eagleswings.f9.co.uk or through Facebook.

After the event Steve Lincoln sent us this report:

Thunder on the Mountain was held in a field on top of the Preseli Mountains in Wales, close to Milford Haven. It was a 24-hour worship and intercession event, with an emphasis on releasing the power of God for revival in Wales through intercession on the drums and intense worship.

The event was led by Ray Hughes and Roy Hackett. I was invited to play drums at the event, along with a group of other drummers from the USA and a couple from the UK.

The event started at 12.00 midday on the Saturday with a 2-hour set of worship and intercession on the drums, followed by several 1 and 2-hour sessions, led by various worship teams from around the region. We then had a 2-hour worship set on drums again from midnight to 2.00am and finished the whole event with a 2-hour session from 10.00am to midday on the Sunday.

The worship was a powerful expression of intercession, and with the focus first of all on lifting up the name of Jesus, but secondly on asking God to send revival to Wales, it was evident that the Holy Spirit was doing some serious work.

During the 24 hours, we had times where the presence of God was powerful, and spontaneous dancing and intercession would take place.

The drumming itself was intense and powerful, with a very tight connection between the drummers. We moved through a number of styles and rhythms and the transition between each was smooth, to the extent that I believe God was blessing the skills of each drummer and taking us to a new level. This was also evident in that we had not played together before as a group.

I believe that the event was significant in calling forth revival for Wales, and we now need to continue to press in. Wales is a very important nation in the purposes of God, with a history of God breaking through in incredible ways. I personally believe that the Lord will bring revival again in the years ahead. Let’s keep praying for this to come (and for the rest of the UK come to that!)

Blessings!
